Shortest & Hottest

With New Zealand approaching mid winter the dogs are enjoying plenty of rough and driven shoot days and whether it’s beating, picking up or shooting, beautiful and varied countryside is guaranteed. We coincided this weekend with the shortest day and, unbelieveably, the hottest June day ever recorded at 25 degrees. This first photo celebrates the end of a wonderful driven day with a photo call, at the Craigmore Valley Shoot.

There is a lull in Pointer & Setter competitions at the moment and the dogs own small ‘wins’ have been in game handling and steadiness. I’ve also been getting the pigeon loft into production and the last of 5 squeakers will soon have its first flight and having birds born in their own loft will make trap training and homing easier than last year.
