Two super runs and 3 HPR’s from Jerzi yesterday at the Hampshire Gundog Society’s Open FT. Many thanks to the host, guns, judges and the HGS team for a lovely day and very well done to all the winners.

Despite a raw wind with ice on the ground at Glennoo, N. Ireland the lovely venue still produced birds for everyone in the GPCI Open Trial at the weekend. Thankfully sun held for the day and 4 dogs went to a very cold water with a great result for Aytee dogs who took 1st and 2nd with congrats to Hari Lampart, Damien McCabe and John Hally and Dora and I were very honoured to receive the Peter Higgins Memorial trophy. Huge thanks to judges, guns, all sponsors and of course Steve Wilson and Tom Wood from Glennoo who finished a mega week which included 3 days of trials! Happy Christmas to everyone and a final pat to the lovely Dora for her beautifully pointed snipe, so wish I'd had a camera.

One trip to Germany with Bodi, sire of our expected “N” litter , and Gina Brown returned with 2 firsts and 2 excellent gradings from championship shows. Congratulations Gina, on this fantastic result. Here is Bodi in field mode 😊
Once again thanks to the Norfolk and Suffolk HPR FT Club for laying on some perfect training, shooting over members dogs. Karats steadiness was well tested and at the end of the day, exactly what we wanted, she was rewarded with a great shot from Zac completing a lovely HPR on a woodcock. These days are fantastic for either bringing on a young dog or sorting a problem. Thanks Jo, Denise and Steve, for organising and a lovely day with runners and guns.

4 HPR’s, 6 guns tired and muddy and full of thorns and our two GSP’s are exhausted after spending a day hunting in the 5000 acres of private deciduous woodland that is Savernake Forest. How had I never heard of it? Thankyou Santi for inviting us and it is marvellous that there are still such wild and beautiful places little more than 50 miles from London !

A fantastic day was spent this week with Peter Howard and Una Russell at their farm in Yorkshire where they hosted a mock field trial for handlers and dogs just starting out in Field Trialling. What a fantastic idea and great opportunity for all the runners who enjoyed this perfect ground, designed entirely for HPR’s. Well done to everyone who took part and massive thanks to Costas Wilkinson who put up with Yours Truly joining him to judge. I had such an enjoyable day, thankyou all.
We are excited to announce that all being well Aytee are expecting puppies on 3rd February 2020. This will be our last UK litter, (“N” litter) before moving to New Zealand and as usual it brings together working and show bloodlines. Ch Aytee Katerina has been mated with Graygees Gigolo JW SGWC. Both young dogs, Karat is a winner of Novice Field Trial and is a Show Champion and Bodi has recently run very well in his first two field trials and holds a SGWC and has championship show wins to his credit in the UK and abroad and JW.
