Myrtle (Aytee Jessie Jay) and handler Hari Lampart won in their first FT outing of the season with a 2ND and the GUNS AWARD at Glemham field trial. Fab result and it was fitting that they should take home the FT CH AYTEE ISADORA CHALLENGE CUP ! Well done both and good luck for the rest of the season.
OCTOBER WATER
This month is great for water training before the temperature drops very low. All our dogs have been water training today with imminent trials in mind.
CHUBBY KARAT
Karats phantom pregnancy left her rather chubby for our 2 days of showing amongst the other streamline GSPs but she enjoyed a 2nd in the Junior Stakes at Driffield Championship Show. Time to get back to some proper training!
PARTRIDGE PLAY GAMES
There were plenty of partridge on our walk up day in Suffolk today, but they played games with the dogs and refused to hold. Overnight rain didnt help, leaving the sugarbeet wet, but thanks to our quick guns we had a bag and the dogs made some good retrieves. Great to see so many birds for later in the season. Thanks to Nick for the day, to Gill and Maureen and their lovely dogs and to our own Dora and Jerzi for some great points.
HOTTER STILL
Phew, panting dogs, hard ground and lots of partridges hiding amongst young pheasants, tested the dogs on our first day of the season picking up. Great to get the season underway, lets hope it cools off for next time.
HOT DAY ON PARTRIDGE
A fantastic training day on partridge today for Dora and Jerzi at Glemham Hall. Lovely to see all the team, thanks to Rob, Kimberley, James and Roger for a brilliant time, to Jean for running the day for the 6 of us and to Jo at the Norfolk and Suffolk HPR FT Club for organising everything.
EVERYONE NEEDS A HOLIDAY
Family Hustler are just back from a couple of weeks away and Aytee dogs have had a great time holidaying here at home with some friends. Massive thanks to Kim for looking after our 4 legged family, they are happy, fit, healthy and in great spirits, all ready for the first busy week of the season with 3 days shooting and 2 shows for Karat ! Wohoooo.
WEATHER GETS THE BETTER OF HANDLER
The Open Trial at Alston pelted competitors with endless cold wind and rain and wearing new "waterproofs" that did nothing to turn the water, freezing cold and with worsening conditions we had to pull out. SUCH a shame for Dora as she was through to the second round having hunted, pointed and retrieved so well. Our first trial of the season and memorable in the worst way possible, but saved by Harry in the Argo, that brought me down from the moor ! It can only get better.
BACK IN THE RIBBONS
Karat hadn't forgotten a thing after 6 weeks off and had a great weekend by winning RBIS at our local dog show and then the next day her Breed Class and Best Junior at Birmingham City Champ Show. When we got home she celebrated by rolling some fox poo!
BEAUTIFUL BURGHLEY
Jerzi strutted her stuff at "The Field " Gundog Awards 2016/17 today, meeting the other lovely winners, sponsors and judges over a champagne lunch after watching the gundog demonstration. What a perfect day ! Jerzi wasn't so bothered about the champagne as her wonderful prize of enough food for a year from Skinners Dogfood. Thanks to everyone for a hugely memorable day !
