ANOTHER CRACKING DAY

Aytee were joined by Quintana GSP's today at Blythborough in Suffolk working everything from heather and bracken to sugar beet, woods and roots and really nailing the sport, coming home with some superb retrieves.  Thankyou again to Nick Elsdon for asking us to work for such a great team of guns and to Maureen Nixon for sharing a lovely day.

JERZI'S FIRST SNIPE

A long hunting day for Aytee dogs Dora and Jerzi today,  alongside GSP's Esta and Freda with handler Jim Bird,  all working for a team of guns in Suffolk.  Thankyou to Nick Elsdon for the super day and  to guns Jamie, Al, David and Tim for some wonderful shooting.   The dogs did some superb retrieves and particular thanks to Jamie for Jerzi's first snipe.   Looking forward to the next time!

NOT TO BE

Dora's effort at the KC HPR 2016 Championship did not go unnoticed but having got through to the 2nd day, on her third run game scent proved too much to resist when her superb find and HPR was thrown away as she drew onto a second point before achieving her retrieve.  Such a last minute mistake was character building for the handler to say the least :) but a truly lovely and memorable week has been spent in Scotland.  Thanks to all and well done to the winners, particularly Adrian with a spectacular 1st AND 2nd !

MEMORABLE SCOTTISH TRIAL

An extraordinary result at the WCGB Scottish Open trial today which  will go down into folklore.  12 Runners winning 12 awards which no-one present could remember ever taking place at any previous trial !   I am so glad that we were there to understand how it could happen.  Hats off to everyone for achieving this unprecedented result and congratulations to the 1st prizewinner who has qualified.  Jerzi ran beautifully hunting a huge beat on a steep and cold mountain side finally achieving  a 4th.

TRIALS CAN BE A TRIAL !

Two trials in the last two days, at two venues in two counties,  four judges, twenty four dogs and dozens of birds  ..... the result - one cofm ! Perhaps everyone is trying too hard to qualify for the Championships, but this is a testing sport ! Aytee have two more chances in two more counties, in two more countries (!) we will give it our best shot.  Scotland on Saturday, good luck to us all, lets hope for better scent,  obedient dogs, and lord please no more backwinds :)
